Drought Landscape Wide

Current Status

In light of drastically improved snowpack and reservoir conditions, Governor Newsom terminated the Stage 2 Water Shortage on March 23rd, 2023. Please continue to follow the City's permanent water schedule since it is in place regardless of drought conditions.

Ways to Save

Help the City Save Water Year-Round

  • Adhere to the Permanent Watering Schedule:
    • Odd Addresses: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
    • Even Addresses: Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
    • No irrigation between 10:00am and 7:00pm
    • See "Watering Schedule" page for help adjusting your irrigation controller
  • Fix leaks within 7 days of discovery

More Actions to Save Water

  • Reduce your irrigation runtimes to prevent runoff
  • Prevent landscape watering during rainfall
  • Wash only full loads of clothes
  • Use the dishwasher only after it is full
  • Water fountains must have a recirculating pump, and be leak-proof
Additional Ways to Save
  • Take a look at your current sprinkler schedule. Consider removing one or two days; and make sure the runtimes are less than 15 minutes per start, for lawns. If you want more time, use the cycle-and-soak method of adding a start time. Too much water as once creates runoff.

  • Check your toilet for a leak. This may seem small, but toilet leaks can add up! Here is a helpful video on chasing down toilet leaks.

  • See our "Programs and Rebates" page for incentives like a free Water Wise House Call and our Smart Irrigation Controller Rebate program.
